History of the Cottage

Located only a short 15 minutes north of Cooperstown, home of the Baseball Hall of Fame, the lodge sits on the shores of Canadarago Lake. With nine bedrooms each with private bath and a private lakeside cottage, it's the perfect home away from home. The grounds behind the lodge are home to two arborial cabins in a single duplex building, as well as two camper trailers, along with the Cottage itself. From June-August we specializes in weekly rentals for the families and groups. Many of our guests are the families of teams playing at Dreams Park or Cooperstown All-Star Village. Our guests enjoy the restaurant/tavern on the first floor or use their own kitchen on the second floor for relaxing home cooked meals. The restaurant/tavern on the first floor has a full stocked bar with a kitchen that stays open late, allowing our guests to relax after a busy day without the worry of driving.

Casual American fare characterizes the menu. We are committed to serving our guests and making their stay enjoyable. Guests can even call ahead, and their dinner will be waiting for them on arrival. There is excellent WiFi reception and cable TV in each room and in the common room upstairs, where our guests can relax. The business is family run by two retired teachers who grew up in the area and who can give you lots of information about places to go and things to see.

We have been continually operating since 1843 and have the charm of a historic inn with all of the conveniences of the 21st century. There are rowboats and canoes for our guests. We have fishing poles for you to use, and the fishing is great. There are geese on the water, eagles that nest on its shores, loons that flitter across the water, and fish that jump.

The entire staff is committed to helping our guests enjoy their vacation in Baseball Country and hope that you will consider it for your next vacation.

Let our home be your home!
